Zeta Jenkins George, a beautiful mother, devoted wife and warm loving grandmother, passed away peacefully in her College Ward home on December 19, 2009 after enjoying a long, healthy and blessed life of 93 years. Zeta was born in Newton, Utah to Pearl Eugene and Nettie Ann Griffin Jenkins. Her father was killed in an unfortunate accident when she was only two. Her mother later married Lenard Winegar who Zeta always said, "he couldn't have been a better dad" and she was always his favorite. She was always blessed with people that adored her. She also had three sisters and a younger brother who she spoke to daily and was very close to. Zeta was married December 29, 1939 to Horton Joseph George. Through their life together, they made a loving family with three beautiful girls: Ilene, JoAnn, and LaRae. Zeta worked hard beside her husband on the family farm until he sold the cows. She sure did miss the milk money but not the cows! Zeta also worked at the Bluebird Candy Factory for 25 years; maybe that is why she was so sweet thru life's trials. Zeta always had a strong faith and devotion and it carried her through all her life. She and Horton were sealed in the temple in 1965. For years, Zeta served callings in young womens and in the primary as well. She remained faithful even when she was no longer able to attend. Zeta will always be remembered by her two daughters, JoAnn and LaRae, her devoted sons-in-law, and grandchildren, as the hardest working, and most loving person in their life. She was full of life and stories, a good laugh, and a jig. We will miss her, but while we are saying good-bye, she is being welcomed home by her husband, mother and father, step-father, her sisters and brother, her grandson Robert and her oldest daughter Ilene. There are not enough words to describe the imprint Zeta has left on us all or to describe the kind of love she has inspired in all of us. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Spring Creek Ward Chapel, 2394 West 2200 South, College Ward. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
