Wm Dell Lewis

June 16, 1923 — September 24, 2010

WILLIAM DELL LEWIS William Dell Lewis passed away peacefully at his home in River Heights on September 24, 2010. He was born to Charles and Esther Lewis of Richmond, Utah. Dell was the youngest of five children: Glenn, Elsie, Edna and Benjamin. He graduated from North Cache High School in 1941 and then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City taking accounting classes.
Beginning in his early teens, he ran the family farm when his father became ill. His father passed away when he was only 17, so he then continued to operate this 60 acre farm in Richmond for four years until his induction into the service.
He served his country during WWII from January 1945 until November 1946 in the Pacific Theater. He was a telephone lineman in Japan and the Philippines.
He married his sweetheart, Mary Robinson, in the Logan LDS Temple on November 16, 1943. Dell is survived by his wife Mary, three children and their spouses, Darrell Joyce Lewis, Jeanne Don Briel and Ann Brent Haslam, 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way.
When Dell returned from the service, he started working at Pack Motor in Logan. He spent his working years helping many people solve their car problems. Dell went to work for Central Auto Parts in 1961 and later for Logan Auto.
Dell served as an officiator at the Logan LDS Temple from January 1990 until August 2002. He truly enjoyed his years of serving his Heavenly Father in this capacity.
He was a terrific gardener and shared the fruits of his labors with all his friends and neighbors. He was always helping and doing for others.
What an example for good he was to all of us. We love you and will miss you.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at noon in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery located in River Heights.
