Wilma Gertrude Kimball Nelson, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 07, 2002 in Portland, Oregon. She was born August 21, 1906 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada a daughter of Alma and Katie Gertrude Wasden Kimball. She married her sweetheart, Leo Charles Nelson, on December 24, 1925, in San Francisco, California. Leo passed away in December of 1993. Wilma?s family moved from Canada when she was an infant and she has lived in Utah ever since?living in Park City, Coalville, Smithfield, and Logan. She graduated from North Cache High School. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she has served in many callings in music, choir and the Relief Society. She is survived by two children, Carma Ted Godfrey, Lake Oswego, OR, and Richard Nelson, Wickenburg, AZ, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchidren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Bonnie Lamar Thurston, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren. Friends and family may call at 1:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, on Thursday, December 12, 2002, services will follow. Burial will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
