Willis Orrin Roper

LOGAN ? Willis Orrin Roper, 94 of Logan, passed away Saturday, September 03, 2005 in Logan. Willis was born May 9, 1911 in Winder, Idaho a son of Orrin and Pearlin Taylor Roper. He married Donna Young on November 15, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. He has lived in several different places in Idaho and Utah where he worked as a farmer. He also worked at Thiokol, retiring in 1973. His hobbies were fishing, gardening and helping family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Logan, their children and spouses: Allene R. and Glenn Mattson of Brigham City; Dennis and Debbie Roper of Brigham City; Orrin and Julie Roper of Reliance, Wyoming and Garry and Cindy Roper of Hyde Park. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Julia Gulbransen of Shelly, Idaho, Della Eddington of Morgan and Zelda Moser of Blackfoot, Idaho. He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, one grandson and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 12 noon in the Preston City Cemetery, Preston, Idaho. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. The family would like to thank the Sunshine Terrace and Dr. Jeffrey Strong for the care given to Willis during his final days.
