William Albert DuRee Born March 4, 1933 in Inglewood, California to Albert Daniel and Elizabeth Lewis DuRee, died April 12, 2009 in Logan, Utah. He was the oldest of three children. He married Evelyn R. Hollingsworth They divorced and he later married Wylene Bleak. He has 9 children, 32 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
He joined the Navy and served on submarines as a cook. He enjoyed traveling and particularly enjoyed Japan. After the Navy, he worked as a correctional officer in Tracy, California and Salem, Oregon. He was very talented and had many hobbies. He loved to work with wood and build things for people. He built several houses, boats, canoes, lamps, canes, clocks, and a camper. He also loved to cook and decorate cakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Evelyn, and his sons: Donald and Jerry DuRee, John Bleak, his daughter Jennene Lea, and his grandson Daniel DuRee. He is survived by his brother Edward DuRee and his sister Jackie Hansen, his wife Wylene, his sons: Dale, Paul DuRee, and Alan Bleak; his daughters: Ellen Cosby, Janice Simmons, and Evelyn Reed. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday April 18, 2009 at the Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
