Wilda R. Cronquist Smithfield, Utah: Wilda Richards Cronquist, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on December 20, 2010.
Wilda was born May 28, 1920 to John Elisha and Chloe Estella Cahoon Richards in Smithfield, Utah.
She meet her lifelong companion and sweetheart Robert Olif Cronquist, Sr. Ollie and married him on January 19, 1938. Later their marriage was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on November 13, 2002. Wilda is the proud mother of five children: Robert O. Cronquist, Jr. Sylvia, Smithfield, Utah; Sonja Andersen Sherman, Hyrum, Utah; Terry Cronquist Ronda, Smithfield, Utah; Kim Cronquist Bernie, Smithfield, Utah; and Shauna Twitchell, Smithfield, Utah. She has 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Wilda worked at the Sunshine Terrace and the Benson Special Education school. She loved helping the people at the Terrace and enjoyed working with the kids in Benson.
Mom served as a visiting teacher and a mutual teacher. Some of her favorite stories were with the Young Women roller skating
Mom had many friends that would call on her if they needed help and she would be there. Mom loved life and enjoyed being with her family and friends. Wilda loved going dancing with Ollie even if they danced at home. Some of her favorite activities were spending time with her family, camping, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Mom always looked forward to the holidays and spending time with family. She and Ollie spent many years racing horses in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Arizona throughout their life. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and was extremely proud of everyone of them. Grandma\=s house was a place for treats, there was always something there for your sweet tooth! We love you and we will miss you. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and one sister.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Logan Nursing and Rehab. and her Bishop Steve Baltzer.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Smithfield 7th Ward Chapel, 79 East 200 South, Smithfield. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 89 South Main St., Smithfield and at the church on Thursday, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
