Wayne Harley Garn

Wayne Harley Garn Fielding: Wayne Harley Garn, 90, passed away December 2, 2002, of alzheimer?s disease, at his home in Fielding. He was born June 5, 1912, in Fielding the son of John Harley and Nancy Mirintha Udy Garn. He married Opal Wood on June 20, 1934, in the Logan Temple. She died May 8, 1999. He lived his entire life in Fielding. He worked for farmers and ran his own farm. He worked as a foreman for the Utah Department of Transportation where he took pride in the safe roads and snow removal. He retired from UDOT in 1977. He was a High Priest in the Fielding Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He played and coached basketball and served in various callings including a counselor in the Bishopric. He and his wife officiated in the Logan Temple. Dad was a wonderful father who loved his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid sportsman and when possible he attended the ballgames of his children and grandchildren. He set a wonderful example for his posterity with his good pioneer work ethic. He and mother were always there to help family when needed. He is survived by his children, Nancy Ramon Warner, Layton; Dee Alice Brown, Garland; Jerry Karen Garn, Pleasant Grove; Gerry DeAnne Garn, Idaho Falls, ID; Jim Teri Garn, Fielding; Clarke Janet Garn, Morgan; Dee Mary Dell Garn, Fielding; 32 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Marlene; son-in-law, Harvey; grandson, Tyler; two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2002, 12:00 noon at the Fielding LDS Stake Center, 4375 West 15600 North. Friends may call Wednesday, December 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Thursday, December 5th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center.
