Walter J Diver peacefully passed away March 23rd., 2011 in Los Angeles California. Walt entered the United States Army at the tender age of eighteen, promptly being deployed overseas during World War II, serving with the renowned 71st. Infantry Division. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge, he served approximately thirty two years in the aerospace industry holding a variety of positions and ended his career and retired as Director of Contracts & Pricing for Rockwell International. One of his proudest achievements was negotiating, what was then the largest ever industry settlement, between Rockwell International and the United States Government subsequent to the B-1A Bomber Program cancellation. Dad was a beloved husband to Mary Jane Davis Diver, beloved father to Debbie, John and his wife Cathy, four grand kids, Adam, Joshua, John Robert, and Michael, and a great grandfather to Michael. He was proud of all and spoke with a broad smile whenever mentioning their names and sharing with his friends their achievements and life stories. Upon the loss of his dearest friend Mary Jane, Dad's life changed forever. While he tried to carry on, after time, you could tell he had a hole in his heart which couldn't be mended. His companion Rusty and his friendship with his caretaker Linda Lao was his only release from the pain he suffered for his loss, as well as an increased interface with his daughter, son, grand kids, and his involvement with the Elks Club. He made many great friends through his association there and held distinct leadership positions. Dad lived a great life and will be missed. He has now however, re-joined his soul mate along with Rusty and is surely looking down from above on this service with a tear in his eye and a smile on his face. Suffer no more Dad.
