Vonda Lou Sparks passed away unexpectedly in her home on September 25, 2024. She was 68 years old.
Vonda was born to Lewis and Yuvonne Sparks on July 16, 1956. The youngest of four children, Vonda married her highschool sweetheart and began a family before returning to school and earning her Nursing Degree from Weber State College in 1990.
As a nurse, Vonda met and cared for many of Cache Valley’s residents. She was a vital part of the joy and pain of many lives; helping people welcome new lives during her time as a nurse in Labor and Delivery, and bringing comfort to those in more trying situations at Sunshine Terrace. She always tried to stay positive and strong for those needing extra support and encouragement as she administered cancer treatments at Dr. Ben-Jacob’s clinic.
Vonda enjoyed a strong creative passion which she channeled into many craft projects. From sewing garments to embroidery to quiltmaking to crochet and knitting - and various other pursuits. Vonda was able to share herself with others and enrich the lives of those she knew, generously gifting her creations and her knowledge with friends and family.
Vonda is preceded in death by both her parents, her brother Scott, and her granddaughter Erin. She is survived by her two sisters, Jeri Wright and Patricia Checketts; her three daughters, Victoria Mariger, Melinda Duncan, and Ren Bentley; and her four grandchildren, Corben, Sakura, Ivan, and Linda.
