Virginia Lester of Lodi, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2009, at the age of 81. Mrs. Lester was born in Logan, Utah on July 24, 1927, to Silas Tellekamp and Virginia Burnham Eggen. She worked as a grocery clerk for at least twenty years. Mrs. Lester moved with her family from Concord to Lodi in 1975, and farmed almonds and various fruit trees. She enjoyed traveling, taking walks, gardening and being outdoors. She also liked to read, and she loved her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Ann Lynde-Collins Craig Collins of Mill Valley; three grandchildren, Mason Bennett Collins, Matthew Shaun Hansen and Allison Hansen Van Leeuwen; one great-granddaughter, Elle Colleen Hansen; two sisters, Mary Albert Clark of Georgetown and Neeltje Thomas MacHale of Citrus Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Keith Lester on September 6, 2008; daughter, Shauna Maureen Hansen; and sister, Martha Janet Preston. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1510 W. Century Blvd, Lodi, on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. Committal will take place at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah.
