Virginia was born on September 2, 1910 in Loup City, NE to Darwin D. and Emma Hickman Grow. She attended Iowa State University in Ames and taught in Loup City where she met and married Vaughn L. Gensler. He preceded her in in 1964. There were two children, Margaret Vaun Alf White of Logan, UT and Brigadier General Dr. Thomas D. Karen K. Gensler of Omaha NE, 9 grandchildren: Terrell, Krista, and Chad Fletcher, Gregory and Courtney Gensler, Saesha Fletcher Stokes, Alisa Fletcher Zilles, Heidi Gensler Lodhia and Andra Fletcher Reeder and 26 great grandchildren. Virginia worked hard her entire life as mother, teacher, social worker and as a resort and college dormitory supervisor. She settled in Logan, UT in 1981 and was independent until 2002 when she was compelled by increasing infirmity to move to the Logan Rehabilitation Center. She was a caring and generous mother and grandmother who was known to know every significant family anniversary and birthday by heart until her final 2 years. She bore her infirmities and any disappointments she may have had with typical Midwest stoicism, grit and dignity. She was honest and expected the same of others. She was tough but hid a tender, almost childlike desire to want to trust and rely on others. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren benefited form her example and had the privilege of a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. The family wishes to take this opportunity to thank the Logan Rehabilitation Center?s employees for their many kind efforts to ease her passage through her final days. May the peace that passes all understanding rest with each and every one of them. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan.
