Verna May Barfuss Christensen Tremonton: Verna May Barfuss Christensen, 83, died April 13, 2002, at the Pioneer Care Center, in Brigham City, UT. She was born June 25, 1918, in Downey, ID, the daughter of Charles and Winnifred Barnes Barfuss. She married Willis Ole Christensen September 29, 1937, in the Logan LDS Temple. Verna lived in Tremonton her entire life except for the past two years spent at the Nursing Home. She worked many years on the family farm near Tremonton. For over 15 years she delivered newspapers, driving over 100 miles a day, never missing a day. She loved flowers and always had a beautiful garden. She was active in school organizations. She spent her entire life raising and caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved to watch sports and was always there to cheer for them. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held position in all the organizations but loved the Primary, leading the singing and her visiting teaching. She is survived by her children, Paul Lana, Tremonton; Gay Lynn Larson, Ogden; Lynn W. Sandy, West Point; Reed B. Linda, Tremonton; Carole Phil Butcher, Colorado Springs, CO; Bonnie Curtis Starr, Malta, MT; Garth Pam, Snohomish, WA; Joyce Scott Germer, Deweyville; Neil G. Mary Kate, Brigham City; Annette Steve Rich, North Ogden; Kevin, Brigham City; 50 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren; brothers, Keith, Glenn, Allen, Dennis, Gene, and Larry; sisters, Afton Thompson, Idella Nielsen and June Fowers. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Helen; two brothers; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont, with Bishop?s Counselor Blake Christensen, officiating. Friends may call Wed. April 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday April 18th from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.
