Arlene Jackson Ficklin, age 89, passed away peacefully September 8, 2004 surrounded by her family. Born February 27, 1915 to Verna Elvira Cordon and Frank Wesley Jackson in Ogden, Utah. She was raised in Logan, Utah, and lived for a time in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Weber College as a registered nurse in 1937. Married Dr. George Clifford Ficklin in the LDS Salt Lake Temple January 20, 1939. Lifelong active member of the LDS Church, she held many ward and stake positions. Served as Logan Temple Matron 1987-1990. Was Tremonton Area Mother of the Year 1974. Served with her husband in the San Antonio Mission in 2000. Her special interests were reading, flowers, music, handwork and travel.
She had a deep love for her family, friends and neighbors. An elect lady, Arlene will be always remembered by those who knew her.
Survived by her husband, George; sons Dr. Larry R. Ficklin Dawn, Washington, MO, George R. Ficklin Brenda, Vacaville, CA, Douglas B. Ficklin Wendi, Tremonton, UT, and Kent C. Ficklin Carol, Johnson City, TN, daughter Carole Ficklin Cutler Ronald, Riverton, UT, sister Florence Jackson Boulton, St. George, UT, brother Frank Jackson, Salt Lake City, UT, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, John Timothy Ficklin and sister Rae Ellen Jackson Jensen Ostler.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tremonton LDS Stake Center located 660 North 300 East, Tremonton. A viewing will be held Monday, September 13, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and Tuesday, September 13, 2004 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Tremonton North Stake Center.
Interment will be in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
