Tremonton, UT - Verle Thomas Waldron, life-long resident of Thatcher, Utah, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his eternal companion and children on August 20, 2009, at River Meadows Senior Living in Alpine, Utah. He was born June 3, 1921, in Thatcher, Utah to Walter Calvin and Mary Hazel Watt Waldron. His life was one of service which included a mission in the Western States Mission as a young man, after which he served honorably in the military, receiving a Purple Heart among several other medals. He came home and married his eternal sweetheart, Joan Ann Willden, in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 12, 1946. He served faithfully his entire life in various church callings as Ward Clerk in three Bishoprics, High Councilman, High Priest Group Leader, Bishop, Sunday School teacher, Temple ordinance worker, as well as neighbor and friend, knowing no stranger. He served with his eternal companion on a mission in South Africa after retiring from running the same farm he was born on. He loved farming and watching things grow. However, his greatest joy was raising a family of three sons and two daughters and watching their children grow. He is survived by his wife, Joan Ann; children, Thomas Mark Diane Waldron, Herriman, Utah, Connie Clyde Stauffer, Alpine, Utah, Shauna Craig Morris, Ogden, Utah, Bruce Lori Waldron, St. George, Utah, Paul LaRee Waldron, Thatcher, Utah, two sisters, Beth Waite and Mabel Showell and 20 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Vern, his brother and best friend, Virgil, his sisters, Faye Watkins, Della Ure, and Arlene Hunsaker. A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah and Monday from 9:15-10:40 a.m. at the Tremonton South Stake Center. Funeral services will be conducted by the Tremonton 9th Ward at 11:00 a.m., Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, Utah. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Bothwell, Utah where military honors will be accorded.
