Venie Alice Coombs Ford

Venie Alice C Ford, 95, passed away February 3, 2004 of causes incident to age at the home of her daughter in Smithfield. Alice was born December 27, 1908 to Ephraim W. Coombs and Elizabeth Reed, the tenth of thirteen children. She married George E. Ford November 12, 1927 in Richfield Colorado. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church and loved her neighbors. She helped anyone she could. Alice taught school in a one-room schoolhouse, which was used for church, dances, school and other activities. Some of her children were privileged to be in her class. The thing that was most important was her family. She had a great love for children. She is survived by her four children: Mae Mel Smith, Logan; Bonnie Scott Anderson, Smithfield; Liz Don Andrews, Logan; Jack Judy Ford, Greybull, Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Langston, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 children, 11 brothers and sisters, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, February 6, 2004 at the Smithfield 16thWard Chapel, 625 East 600 South. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
