Logan - Venice Larsen Downs Andrews, 94, passed away February 28, 2008 at her daughter's home in South Jordan, Utah. Venice was born February 6, 1914 in Providence, Utah, the second of seven children of Alma and Rebecca Spring Larsen. She met and married Elmo Howard Downs, July 1932. Their four children are: Lloyd Howard, deceased,Eulalia Downs, Seattle; Connie Sherwin Kirby, Hyde Park; Carolyn Evan Davis, South Jordan; and Barbara Jensen, Logan. Venice has 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one sister, Erma Young. They lived in Logan where Elmo was a Logan City fireman. Venice also served in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a wonderful quilter and was the quilting director for twenty years in the ward. She served as a Pink Lady at the Logan Hospital and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Elmo died in November 1972. Venice later met and married Leo Andrews in September 1977. He passed away in July 1996. Venice was loved by many who knew her. Being the oldest remaining sibling, her nephews and nieces were drawn to her. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
