Valene Watt Andreasen

Tremonton, UT ? Valene Watt Andreasen, 75, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away September 22, 2007 at her home after a long, courageous battle with the debilitating disease of rheumatoid arthritis. She was surrounded by her loving family and left this earth to return to her Heavenly Father through His grace with dignity and honor.
Valene?s name originated as she was born her daddy?s Valentine February 14, 1932 in Thatcher, UT. She was nine of fourteen children, daughter of William Louder Watt and Cora Elizabeth Ray Watt. She was raised in Thatcher and was a member of the LDS church. She graduated from Bear River High School and participated in the pep squad and was recognized as a B.R.H.S. sweater girl.
She married her sweetheart, Clair E. Andreasen, August 21, 1950, in Brigham City, UT. They resided in Tremonton and raised two beautiful daughters, Julie and Lori. Valene worked at City Drug and later Hamilton Drug as a bookkeeper and clerk for twenty-nine years. She loved serving the public and took great pride in her work. She enjoyed playing softball in the Tremonton City Softball League. She was also well known for her homemade divinity, penuche, caramel corn, and raisin filled cookies. Valene?s hobbies included cross-stitching, embroidering, and knitting. Valene enjoyed visits from close friends and doting on her wonderful grandchildren. Not a moment passed that she did not acknowledge their accomplishments, and she treasured her friendship with each. Valene?s fondest memories are of camping trips to Jackson Hole and a special Disneyland vacation with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Clair; her daughters: Julie Greg ?Moe? Rose, Lori Shane Petersen, ten grandchildren: Jared, Justin, Mindi Matt Archibald, Cami, Ashley, Landon, Lindsey, Dustin, Dillon, Colton; one great granddaughter, Alli Shae; brother, Dee Dorothy Watt, Sunset; sisters: Ion Udy, Garland, Leah Leon McDonald, Brigham City, Delilah Larry Thatcher, Penrose, Alice Ralph Yearsley, Mantua, Judy Kenneth Gilson, Colorado Springs; brother-in-law, Ron Lemon, Hyrum; sister-in-law, Viola Watt, Longview, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to the caring Hospice caretakers. Especially Carol Cahoon, Shawn Horsley, and Raelynn McKee for their tender and understanding care.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Friends and family may call Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home and Thursday morning from 9:30?10:40 a.m. Interment at Bear River City Cemetery.
