Vada Robinson Spackman

November 27, 1923 — November 9, 2013

Vada Robinson Spackman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father and her sweetheart, RJ Spackman, on November 10, 2013. She will be fondly remembered as a hard worker and for her spirited personality. She was born on November 27, 1923 in Franklin, Idaho. She married RJ in 1941, and they made their home in Richmond. Vada worked as a homemaker, telephone operator, and alongside her husband on their mink ranch.
Vada was very passionate about her family. Her happiest times were with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She prided herself on her large, beautiful garden and welcomed everyone to share in her harvests. Her talents included cooking, canning, and sewing. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and especially loved her calling as a Relief Society visiting teacher.
Vada was preceded in death by her husband, Rosmond Johnson "RJ" Spackman; her son, Rene Jay Spackman; six siblings: Georgia Lloyd Bair, Maurine Albert Bateman, Donald Wanza Robinson, Jack Ruby Robinson, Howard Winona, surviving Robinson, and Louis Loene Robinson; and her parents, Louis Perley Robinson and Lillie Jane Atkinson. Vada is survived by her daughter, Jill Philip Cox of Centerville, UT; daughter-in-law, Denise Dave Cable of Wellsville, UT; five grandchildren: Ryan Christa Bell of Preston, ID, Jessica Billy Nilson of Fort Hood, TX, Lacey John Cook of Farmington, UT, Jenney Jason Blair of Cornish, UT, and Kelley Cameron Adams of Henefer, UT; her sister, Mary William Lewis of River Heights, UT; her brother, Carl Jay Shirley Robinson of Pleasant View, UT; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16 at noon in the Richmond Second Ward Building at 150 South 100 East in Richmond, Utah. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to services. Interment will follow at the Richmond Cemetery. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Sunshine Terrace Hospice and Logan Nursing and Rehab for their loving care.
