Trudy Ann Olson Swenson

September 17, 1946 — November 13, 2018

Trudy Ann Olson Swenson died on November 13, 2018 at her Nibley home after a long battle with cancer. She passed away from the exact same thing as her husband, just nine months earlier. She is now enjoying a large family reunion with her loved ones gone before her.
Trudy was born September 17, 1946 in Logan, Utah to Heber Ray and Dorothy Lundberg Olson. She grew up in Smithfield along with three sisters and one brother. She grew up surrounded by close friends and family. She attended Summit Elementary In Smithfield and North Cache High School.
On August 5, 1963 she married Stan B. Swenson. They built their home in Nibley and raised three children. She worked at Albertsons, Wurlitzer, Ross, and her favorite, Z.C.M.I, where she worked for 19 years, making many friends with customers and co-workers.
On January 22, 2005, she went through the temple. A life long active member of the L.D.S. church. She taught primary for 20 years and served as 1st counselor. She loved children and felt like she was one of them. After retiring, she missed the association of kids so she went to work as a reading aide at three elementary schools. The kids called her Granny Tutti Frutie.
She loved people, she loved to tell jokes and enjoyed making others laugh. She is survived by her three children; Cory (Ginger), Eric, and Jen (Brady), and her fur baby, Odie, who was the favorite child of them all. He was spoiled beyond measure. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Stan, her father, mother, and brother, Curtis Ray Olson, and her grandson, Jeremy Ray Swenson.
To know her was to love her. “Sweetpea” and “Hon” were the name she would call everyone she loved. She was by far the most amazing, caring, and giving woman this world has ever known. We are so grateful we were able to call her MOM. This was her last Facebook post from Sunday, November 11th. “An Angel kissed my tears away today when I was sad. I wasn't feeling quite myself, my day had been so bad. I felt a warmth brush by me. That quickly dried my tears. A gentle kind and loving touch that seemed to hold me near. Immediately, I felt so much better and the day seemed brighter too. I guess that's just the way you feel when an angel comforts you.” Mom knew the time was near. Angels truly were with her.
Fly Mama. Fly high. We love you so much. Thanks for devoting your life to us. Now it is your turn to be free.
There will be a viewing Friday, November 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Allen Hall Mortuary, 35 East Center street, Logan. There will be another viewing Saturday the 17th from 10-11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be at noon. Burial will follow at the Millville Cemetery.
