Trudy Hess, 78, of Richmond, UT passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 after a long battle with several illnesses.
Trudy was born in Idaho Falls, ID on June 3, 1944 to William Mack and Dolores Guymon. She graduated from Bonneville High School in Lincoln, ID and went on to graduate from Brigham Young University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clothing and Textiles. She worked for the Family Life Department at Utah State University for 29 years.
Trudy was sealed for time and all eternity to James P. Hess in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 16, 1966. Trudy and Jim met while working at Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone Park the summer of 1966. Jim was immediately smitten and spent the summer convincing Trudy to spend eternity with him. Together they raised four daughters, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Heidi Jo, and Gretchen, most of that time being spent in Richmond, UT.
Trudy was a devoted mother and wife. She devoted herself to taking care of her husband and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She had an incredible artistic talent in many areas and loved to draw, paint, sew clothes and dolls, and create beautiful cakes for birthdays and weddings. When she was in good health, she enjoyed serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and especially enjoyed teaching the Primary children. She had a very tender heart and will be greatly missed.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, William Mack and Dolores Guymon (Hall), her sister Janet Guymon (Farnworth) and her brother DelRoy Guymon. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James P. Hess, her daughters Jennifer (Steve) Schill, Elizabeth (Richard) Brown, Heidi Jo Hess, and Gretchen (Justin) Jasperson, along with 7 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 1 grandson-in-law.
The funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the City Creek Chapel, 150 S. 100 E. in Richmond, UT. The viewing will begin at 9:30 am, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. For those who cannot attend in person, the services will be broadcast through the following link:
