Trent Carroll Thompson

October 6, 1910 — March 31, 2005

Trent Carroll Thompson, 94, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2005 while visiting with his daughters in Henderson, Nevada on a much anticipated family outing. Trent was born October 6, 1910 in Bear River City the third of ten children born to Soren Junius "June" and Jarda Victoria Anderson Thompson. He was reared and educated in Bear River City and Elwood and attended Bear River High School. On November 1, 1932 he married his sweetheart, Annie Elizabeth Grant, a union that has lasted more than 72 years. Trent, a farmer and a carpenter, was a "Jack of all Trades" and helped build many homes, barns, and concrete ditches throughout the Bear River Valley...he even helped with the construction of the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home. He worked with Erv Stohl, Germer, Abbott, & Waldron, Jess Garfield, and Jon Z. Thompson. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, story-telling, and spending time with his family. He was an Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints being a faithful home teacher for over 45 years. He is survived by his wife Annie, Elwood; children, Carolyn Doyle Rasmussen, Henderson, NV, Annetta Charles Ames, Ivins, UT, Kae Gary Hill, Plain City, UT, Mary Jane Lynne Bowen, Beaver Dam, UT, Claudia Jay Goodell, Farr West, UT, Ronald Barbara Thompson, Elwood, UT; 29 Grandchildren, 85 Great Grandchildren, 30 Great-Great Grandchildren; brother Warner; sister Dahrl Billings. He was preceded in death by brothers Aldon, Donald, Lindon, Maurice; sisters Dolly Iverson, Grace Kroksh, Helen Hansen; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; and most recently son-in-law, Charles "Bud" Ames. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, with President Henry Z. Thompson conducting. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
