Thad Carl Poulter

Garland, Utah - Thad Carl Poulter passed away on Dec. 13, 2007 unexpectedly from a heart attack. He was born Oct. 11, 1947 to Spencer Ray Poulter and Afton Hamilton. He was raised in Logan, UT and graduated from Logan High. After high school, he attended USU and received his certification in Aircraft Mechanics. He served in the Air Force and Navy Reserves. Thad married Sue Munns on Oct. 10, 1969. They have resided in Garland they entire married life. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They have 4 children: Shannon Kristi, Darin, Laura Shaun Wilkinson, and J.R.; and a foreign exchange student from Australia, Belinda Mullan. He was a member of the Garland 2nd Ward. Thad took great pride in his work at DCMA, where he worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist, working on the NASA contract providing oversight of the Space Shuttle. He worked over 40 years in his government career and received numerous awards. Thad Served on the Garland Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 34 years, where he served in many positions, including Fire Chief. He loved serving salmon to the many people at the annual Fish Fry, wearing his ?Fish Hat?. He loved to take his kids on fishing, hunting and camping trips and cooking was a favorite pastime of his. You could always find him going down the road on the 4-wheeler or in his skid-steer, or at his shop ?fixing? something. Thad loved his 3 granddaughters and loved taking them on 4-wheeler rides. Thad is survived by his wife, Sue, his 4 children, 3 granddaughters: Addie, Sydney, and Shelby. Sister Renee Dale Allen, Brother Ray Poulter, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Clint Brenda Munns, Jay Debbie Munns, Paula Jerry Allred, Rex Leatham, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and infant brother John and infant sister Elaine, sisters-in-law Jody Leatham and Becky Munns and brother-in-law Terry Munns. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Garland Tabernacle 140 West Factory, Garland, UT. Visitations will be held Monday, December 17, 2007 from 6:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 ? 10:30 A.M. prior to the funeral services at the Tabernacle. Interment will be in the Garland City Cemetery.
