Tamara Kaye DuRee

May 16, 1962 — December 19, 2003

Tamara Kaye Beard DuRee, 41, returned to her Heavenly Father on December 19, 2003. Tamara was born on May 16, 1962 in Salem Oregon. She was adopted by Alfred Guy and Melba Beard in 1967. Tamara?s adoptive mother died in 1973, leaving Tamara, once again, without a mother. When Tamara was fourteen years old, she was taught by the LDS missionaries and was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. This provided a much needed foundation for Tamara who loved the gospel with all of her heart. Tamara attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho in 1982. Although suffering from medical problems, Tamara valiantly served a mission for the LDS church in Anaheim, CA. Tamara was a wonderful, dedicated missionary. Throughout her life, she never wavered in her testimony of Jesus Christ and served in numerous positions in the church. She loved being a visiting teacher. On February 18, 1995, Tamara married Paul DuRee in the Logan LDS temple. Through this marriage, Tamara gained four children. Paul and Tamara enjoyed their time together. They traveled and spent time at Island Park before Tamara became bedridden and was unable to travel anymore. Paul has spoken often about the many ways that Tamara has enriched and blessed his life. Tamara loved children, especially babies, and they loved her. She loved reading scriptures and studying the gospel. Tamara truly cared about people. She took a deep interest in the lives of her friends and family and spent countless hours visiting and comforting those she loved. Her wit, her laughter, and her sense of humor will be missed. Throughout Tamara?s life, she suffered and struggled with complications of M.S.. Tamara always felt that she was surrounded by the love of her Heavenly Father and by his angels. The courage and strength she exhibited during her trying final years stand as a testament of her faith in eternal life. Tamara wanted those who cared for her to know of her gratitude for them. These people include her doctors, nurses, Hospice workers, the Oakbrook, Green Meadows, and Logan 12th ward Relief Societies, and her many friends and family. Tamara was proceeded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, Paul DuRee and by their children Helena, Braydan, Travis, and Symony. She is also survived by her sister Amy Beard and her aunt and uncle, Dean and Donna Richins who raised her after her mother?s death, and by countless friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m at the Oak Brook Ward Chapel, 940 Three Point Ave. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 26th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. There will also be a viewing prior to services at the church on Saturday from 11:30-12:30. Internment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
