Brigham City – Steven George Braegger, 55, returned home to his Heavenly Father surrounded by his family February 23, 2011. Steve was born March 14, 1955 in Logan, UT to his wonderful parents Roy and LaRene Braegger. He was forth of seven children. Steve married his sweetheart Susie February 6, 1975 and was sealed for time and all eternity April 7, 1979 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised 5 beautiful children: Melissa, Bryan, Trapper, Lance and Jaycee in Bear River City. Steve began his career as a mechanic at Crump Wheatley Motors in Tremonton, UT. He loved working with his hands and serving friends. He served 28 years of loyal service before retiring in 2001. Steve was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a young men's and scouting advisor multiple times in his Bear River Ward for many years where he was loved and admired by the youth. He enjoyed taking them on camping trips and teaching them about the outdoors. Steve's love was the outdoors. Ever since he was a kid he loved to fish, trap and hunt. He loved to spend time with friends doing these activities. He loved to hunt everything from small game to big game where he was able to get his trophy Caribou, Elk and Moose. He taught himself taxidermy and did this work part time throughout his life. He raised pheasants and other game birds since he was a kid and sold thousands of birds each year. He loved his annual trip to Alaska. He went every summer for 12 years where he loved to catch salmon and halibut. When he learned how to mount the fish he caught, he took great pride in displaying them around the house. Steve loved being with his family. He always supported his children in their lives; watching his kids play sports and was their greatest fan. He taught them the importance of family and they loved to gather together every Sunday to spend time together. He taught them how to fish, hunt, jet ski, grow a garden, take care of animals and to serve the people around them. He taught them how to love by showing them how much he loved his wife, Susie. He would do anything for her. He loved his 10 grandchildren. You could always find him giving them 4 wheeler rides, telling them "Crazy" secrets, hugging them while they counted to 100 or attending different events in their lives. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susie; his 5 children, Melissa Chris Snyder, Tremonton, UT, Bryan Heather Braegger, Laredo, TX, Trapper Robyn Braegger, Bear River City, UT, Lance Jamee Braegger, Logan, UT and Jaycee Braegger of Bear River City, UT; his 10 beautiful grandchildren: Austin, Taylee, Bryson, Brinley, McKenzie, Dax, Avery, Kit, Kelsey and Daisee and his best friend, Lizzie Dog.
