Stephen Yeoman

November 22, 1939 — April 10, 2010

Stephen Yeoman passed away at the home he built in Avon, Utah, on April 10, 2010, with his wife at his side. Stephen was born in Abertillery, Wales, to Gwyn Gordon Yeoman and Gladys Irene Farley. He was soon joined by a sister, Marilyn Elizabeth, and they were raised in Hasbury, Worchester, England. He married Ruth Fisher and became father to David Paul Yeoman and Christopher John Yeoman. Stephen and Ruth immigrated to the United States in 1968 and lived in Saint Anthony, Idaho; Wellsville and North Logan, Utah. They later divorced. Stephen married Nyla Wilkinson and was later widowed. He married Charisse Erickson. Stephen worked for Wurlitzer, Weathershield and E.A. Miller mostly as a truck driver, which allowed him to visit every state in the contiguous U.S.
Stephen was a complex man who went through many changes in his life. He was both blunt and kind and always quick-witted. It was fun to be around him. He freely offered his thanks to the Lord for having received so many blessings and for the love and friendship he shared around his table and in his life. He often asked that we may all be blessed with common sense. He dearly loved his family and friends, and loved being on the water, especially boating at Flaming Gorge. He loved the nights spent at fireside with his friends "drinking beer and telling lies."
Stephen is survived by his wife, Charisse; sons David in Logan and Chris Tracie in Bayville, N.J.; grandsons Steven, Tyler and Angus; his dear sister Marilyn of Blackheath of West Midlands, England; nephews Julian, Richard and Gareth Watkins; and cousins also in the U.K.; and his goddaughter Charlotte Jones. A memorial will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 North, Logan, UT 84321. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Paradise First Ward, 155 E. 9400 South, Paradise, UT. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Hospice at: Intermountain Home Care, 550 E. 1400 North, Suite G Logan, UT 84341 or a charity of your choice. We also express our gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Strong and Ruth Adams at Sunshine Terrace and the IHC Hospice Team.
