Stanton Leroy Casteel passed away peacefully on January 17, 2012 in Logan at the age of 76.
He was born December 8, 1935 to James Leroy and Edith Nelson Casteel in Treasureton, Idaho. He attended school in Treasureton and Preston, Idaho. Stan married Virginia Ann Hammond on May 7, 1954 in Soda Springs, Idaho. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho, Providence, and Hyrum, Utah. They were blessed with 6 children. Stan worked on construction most of his life and enjoyed doing welding. He worked for Niederheuser Construction and Logan Manufacturing.
He loved fishing, hunting with his boys and spent many unforgettable camping trips in the mountains near his home. He loved going on road trips to Montana with his wife and his dog Sam. He loved the visits from his family, John Wayne movies, and sitting ourdoors watching lightening storms and sunsets with his sweetheart.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; 6 children; Steven Christy Casteel, Wellsville, Ut; Debbie Chris Larsen and Kathy Richard Clayton of Layton, Ut; Christine Robert Wilson, Logan, Ut; Jim Erin Casteel, Hyrum, Ut; Carolyn Casteel, Elwood, Ut; 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren with one more to arrive in August. His is also survived by his brother Gary of Twin Falls, Id and 2 sisters, Virginia Jacobs of Pocatello, Id and Shannon Halford of Idaho Falls, Id. He was greeted by his parents James & Edith as he left this life. We will miss your teasing and little pinches!
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan, 21, 2012 at 12 noon in the Nelson Funeral home Chapel, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Satruday from 10;30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
