HYRUM ? Stacy Sorenson Simper, 43 of Hyrum, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 of complications of kidney/pancreas transplant at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born March 10, 1963 in Gunnison, Utah to Lois and Kurt Sorenson. She married Travis Simper in the Manti LDS Temple on May 12, 1989. Stacy attended and graduated from Gunnison High School and Utah State University. Stacy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Primary President and was currently serving as a nursery worker which she loved doing. She loved little children and they loved her. Her greatest joy in life was her son Wyatt. Stacy is survived by a son, Wyatt; husband, Travis; parents, Kurt and Lois Sorenson; three brothers, Russell, Douglas and Bruce. Also surviving are father in law and mother in law; Ervin and Joyce Simper; three sisters in law, three brothers in law and eight nieces and nephews, several Aunts and Uncles. She was employed at USU parking and transportation office. Stacy suffered quietly with diabetes for many years without complaint. She enjoyed and was talented at playing the piano.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hyrum 12th Ward Chapel, 176 South 1300 East, with Bishop George Castleton conducting. Friends may call at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:30. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
