Sherman Lee Andersen

Sherman L. Andersen 75 unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in his home in Hyrum after a day doing what he loved most, fishing with his son, and grandson, and playing with his granddaughter. He was born May 6, 1936 in Hyrum, Utah to Jay Lowell & Ann Bair Andersen.
In 1953, he joined the Navy.
On October 29, 1960, he married Sonja Cronquist. They had four children together: Freda Gene Derrickson of Paradise, daughter; Robert L. Tracy Andersen of Hyrum, son; Jason L. Shayna Andersen of Hyrum, son.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, & spending time with his family & friends. He was known for his generosity & knowledge in helping others achieve their goals to become journeymen carpenters. He helped family and friends whenever they needed it.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sonja Cronquist Andersen, and his siblings L. Jay Louis Andersen of Logan, brother; Sherill Don Wilson of Hyrum, sister; and his adored granddaughter, Jasee Andersen and grandson Garrett Derrickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents & daughter Baby Andersen.
A viewing will be held at Nelson Funeral Home 162 E. 400 N. on Monday, August 1st from 6-8 pm and from 10:30-11:30 on Tuesday, August 2nd at the same location. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
