HYRUM?Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather Samuel Leo McBride passed away peacefully in the Logan Hospital from complications of pneumonia on April 11, 2004.He was born to Samuel & Eliza Jane Hall McBride on May 15, 1920. He married Avis Eleen Goodsell on September 5, 1941 and shortly after they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 63 years side by side as sweethearts. They raised 3 children, one son and two daughters.Leo was a faithful dedicated member of the LDS church and served in various Priesthood callings. He and his wife served as dance directors and also fulfilled a Stake Mission together. Leo served his country in the U.S. Navy stationed overseas in Guam. He worked for Thiokol for 25 years. Throughout his life he worked on the farm, as a carpenter, and various other odd jobs.Leo?s greatest love was his dear wife who was always by his side and his family. His family came first in his life and Leo enjoyed traveling and camping with them. He was always a big tease and will be remembered for his fun sense of humor. He loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with them. He was dearly loved by all of them. He was always kind, loving, and thoughtful to everyone, and loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.Leo is survived by his wife, Avis; his three children, Todd Ginny McBride, Karren Jay Bodrero, Patty Dave Hochstettler; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson, Also surviving are two brothers Darrell McBride and Austin McBride; three sisters Jerry Hobbs, Ginger Bohi, Elva Hatch. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Rhoda McBride, Vergie McBride, Violet Ricks, Rose Maughan; one brother, George McBride.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Hyrum 1st Ward Chapel, 595 South 200 East. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, and on Thursday at the church prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
