Ruth Holman Jackson

March 20, 1927 — October 27, 2018

Ruth Holman Jackson returned to her Father in Heaven on October 27, 2018 at Autumn Care Living Center in Hyde Park, Utah. She was born March 20, 1927 to Lester and Ruth Holman. She was the youngest of 2 children. She was raised in East Garland, Utah.

She met her sweetheart, Ned Jackson, at Utah State. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 23, 1946. She worked in a grocery store while in Gardnerville, NV where their three oldest children were born. They moved to Martinez, CA where she was a full time mother, wife, and homemaker, and their youngest child was born. They moved to Oakdale, CA where she worked at the high school, first in the lunchroom and then the library.

After retiring, Ruth and Ned served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fiji, New Zealand, and Florida. In between missions, they moved to Logan to be closer to their family. Ruth loved embroidery, playing the piano, attending her grandchildren’s music and drama events. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many callings. She had a love for our Savior and serving others.

She is survived by her four children, Lynda (Eugene) Goodsell of McLean, VA; Sherilyn (Kenneth) Tibbitts of Fielding, UT; Terry (Jennifer) Jackson of East Garland, UT; and Camille (Steven) Amott of Smithfield, UT; 18 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren (with a few more on the way).

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ned; her parents, Lester & Ruth Holman; brother: Ralph; and multiple great-grandchildren.

Ruth’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Autumn Care Living Center and Access Home and Hospice for their compassion and excellent care of Ruth, during the last few years of her life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00am at the Hyde Park Wardhouse, 480 N 100 W, Hyde Park, Utah. Friends may visit from 9:30- 10:30am, prior to services. Interment will be held at the Logan Cemetery.
