Dr. Ruth Vickers Clayton passed away September 18, 2011 at the age of 85. She was born March 2, 1926 in Palo Allo, Calif. She was the third child of four born to Wallace J. and Eva Pearl Sperry Vickers. She attended school in Logan and graduated high school in 1943. She attended USU and finish with her Masters Degree in 1953. She attended Purdue University and finish with her P.H.D in 1987. She taught at USU until her retirement. She married Richard L Clayton, November 22, 1946. They loved to play golf and go skiing. She also liked to sew and knit. They had two sons, Richard Lyman Jr. and John Wallace. She is survived by one sister Jane Arellano, two sons Richard and wife Kathy of Layton, John and wife Jackie of Holliday. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Vallon, and sister Verdena, and her husband Richard.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening at Nelson Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday September 23, 2011 at noon at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North Logan, Utah.
