Ruby Marie Burger Johnson passed away Apr. 10, 2014, at the Legacy House in the arms of her loved ones. She was born in North Logan, Utah on Apr. 28, 1925, to Joseph and Inez Burger. She spent her childhood in Cache Valley, Utah where she met her high school sweetheart, Creed F. Johnson. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on Sept. 12, 1945. Ruby devoted her life to serving others and being a positive influence to all those around her. Alongside her husband Creed, she served an LDS mission in Dallas, Texas, in 1986; following their return, they served as temple workers in the Logan Temple for sixteen years. Even after the passing of her sweetheart in 2003, she continued to serve in the temple for another two years until transportation became too difficult. Ruby was welcomed home by many loved ones who passed before her including her husband Creed F. Johnson, her brothers Ray and Dewain Burger, and her parents Joseph and Inez Burger, as well as many others. Ruby is survived by her four children: Terry Ellen Johnson, Jan Richard Watts, Joy Michael J. Smith, and Linda Alan Elder. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Barbara Burger, twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren, with three on the way. A viewing will be held in her honor on Wednesday, Apr.16, in the Nelson Funeral Home at 85 South Main in Smithfield from 6 to 8 p.m. An additional viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to Ruby's funeral, which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 17, in the LDS chapel located at 345 East 300 South, Smithfield, UT.
