Ruby Housley Fredrickson

July 15, 1920 — October 6, 2008

Garland, Utah – Ruby Housley Fredrickson, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Bear River Care Center, Tremonton, UT.
Ruby was born July 15, 1920 in Garland, UT to Jennie S. Richmond and Samuel G. Housley.
Ruby married Jack D. Yoder August 20, 1941. They had four children. They later divorced.
Ruby married the love of her life, Arvid Fredrickson June 24, 1975 in the Logan LDS Temple. Their union has created a family of six sons, one daughter, 26 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 14 great, great-grandchildren. Arvid passed away March 20, 2002.
Ruby was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings wherever she lived. One of her greatest joys was when church officials requested that she become the first Primary President and establish the first Primary in the Tule Lake Branch of the Northern California Mission. Another great joy was serving with her beloved husband, Arvid, as Logan Temple workers for nine years.
Ruby shared her talents and love of quilting, crocheting, embroidery and knitting with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends. She tied over 100 quilts for the LDS Church Humanitarian Service.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers: Cyril, Don and Ray Housley, sister, LaVon Call and step-son, Lee Fredrickson.
Ruby is survived by her children: Ray K. Rosalie Yoder, Garland; Dennis Annette Yoder, Garland; Jacqueline Tom Magee, Clearfield; Paul Dixie Yoder, Garland; Neal Marsha Fredrickson, Sherwood, OR; Gaylene Diane Fredrickson, Chubbuck, ID and Linda Fredrickson, Surey, BC, Canada.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory St., Garland, UT. Friends may call Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT and from 9:00 – 10:40 a.m. at the tabernacle prior to the service.
Interment at Garland Cemetery.
Ruby's family wish to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staffs at Bear River Care Center, Bear River Valley Hospital and Legacy Hospice for their concern and compassionate care of our mother.
