Roy C. Kunzler, 91, died peacefully at home Wednesday, June 28, 2006 of causes incident to age. He was born August 30, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Edward and Elsie Pugsley Kunzler. He was raised in Park Valley, Utah, graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and served four years of military service in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. As a young boy, he learned to work hard and loved hunting and playing baseball. He loved ranching and worked closely with his brother, Max, at this profession in his beloved Park Valley.
Roy was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a hard worker, always honest, and full of integrity and patience. He was kind and thoughtful to everyone around him and was a wonderful son, brother, husband and uncle. He was always willing to help others and was a good neighbor. Uncle Roy was a great example to his nieces and nephews, especially in his generosity and patience with them.
Roy married Belle W. Porter in 1985. She died in 1993.
He is survived by a brother, Max Kunzler, Park Valley; sister, Guenna Kenneth Yost, Burley, ID; 13 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle; his parents; sister, Lois Larsen and a niece, Sandrea Rasmussen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1:00 a.m. in the Park Valley Ward Chapel, Park Valley, Utah with a viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. before services. Interment will be in the Park Valley Cemetery.
Roy always appreciated any kindness shown to him. At this time of sorrow, the family wishes to also express their thanks for the many who have served Roy throughout his life.
