Rosetta Elizabeth Balls Jacobsen

March 4, 1911 — February 22, 2008

Hyde Park – Rosetta Elizabeth Barker Balls Jacobsen, 96, passed away and returned to her loving Father in Heaven on Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rosetta was born in Albion, ID on March 4, 1911, to William Samuel and Emily VanLeuvan Barker. She had three brothers, William, the oldest died at a year old. Iveo was two years older; and Clifford two years younger. She also had two step brothers and four step sisters. Rosetta went to school in View, ID up to the 8th grade. She always had a lot of friends, and was loved by most everybody. Rosetta married Parley James Balls, from Hyde Park, UT, on June 9th 1930. In 1944 they renewed their vows in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they enjoyed the thrill of adventure. Whether it was fishing, exploring, dancing, traveling, or rock hunting, they did it together and had fun. Rosetta loved to garden and especially loved her flowers. Parley passed away on December 17, 1976. On March 22, 1985, Rosetta married a long time friend, Merrill Jacobsen. He passed away three months later. She had a great love for her family and her Father in Heaven. She served in many positions in the LDS Church. She is survived by her two daughters: Myrna Paul – deceased Miller, Phoenix, AZ; and Emilie Ryan Runchel, Smithfield, UT; Three grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hyde Park 6th Ward Chapel, 535 East 200 South, Hyde Park. There will be a viewing held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and prior to services on Wed from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church.
