Born the youngest son of Asa & Eleanor Searle, he joined a family of five brothers, Stan, Lynn, Elmer, Gilbert, & Ralph, & one sister Jenny, in the small town of Tooele, UT. Shortly after graduating high school in 1944, he joined the Navy & served in WWII along with 4 of his older brothers.
After his discharge in 1946 he attended Utah State University where he met his lifelong partner Barbara (Roskelley) Searle. They were married April 18, 1947 in the Logan temple & had 70 wonderful years together & three daughters.
Ronald was a faithful follower of our Heavenly Father & held many positions in the LDS church.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, & golf.
Ron had a long career as an industrial engineer, first with Kenecott Copper & then with the Bureau of Reclamation, retiring in 1986.
Ron is survived by two daughters, Deeann (Curt) Echavarren & Ronda (Eric) Anderson, 12 grandchildren & many great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Barbara Roskelley Searle, & his oldest daughter Barbara Jean (Steve) Ahlstrom.
A viewing will be held Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 Am at Nelson Funeral Home (162 E 400 N in Logan) followed by a graveside service at the Smithfield City Cemetery.
