Robert Bob S. Frost, 70, of Smithfield, Utah, passed away February 18, 2013. He was born September 18, 1942 in Albany, California to Irving Condie and Sarah Bernice Salmon Frost. He married his best friend, Dona Street, on September 17, 1963, in the Logan LDS Temple and together they had five children. Bob loved his family and enjoyed camping, hiking, barbequing and family reunions. He taught his children how to fish, cook in a dutch oven and the value of hard work. Family was extremely important to him and he did his best to make time for them. Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many capacities in the ward and stake. He loved serving and had an unwavering testimony of the gospel. He shared it through example, service, and word. In 2004 Bob and Dona served as companions in the San Jose CA mission. He loved being "engaged in a marvelous work". Music was an integral part of Bob's life both as enjoyment and his profession. Bob received both graduate and undergraduate degrees from USU, and a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Northern Colorado. He also served as president of the National School Orchestra Association and the Utah Chapter of ASTA. He taught orchestra at various public schools in Cache Valley. Bob was an accomplished orchestral composer. He was a playing member and then conductor of the Cache Symphony Orchestra. His talent and legacy will be felt and heard for many years to come. Bob was a caring and thoughtful person. He was an inspiration to many through his daily activities, his church responsibilities and especially in how he demonstrated his love and tender care towards his dear wife Dona. Bob is survived by his children; Kelly Rex Fisher of Layton, Utah, Doug Katie Frost of Cypress, Texas, Carlene Will DiBartolo of Clinton, Utah, Scott Idrian Frost of Burlington, North Carolina, and Janet Chad Reese of Smithfield, Utah; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; 3 siblings, Chuck Linda of Rexburg, Idaho, Jackie Drifter Lucas of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Diana Ernie Haip of Aurora , Colorado. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sweet companion. Funeral services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home and will be held at noon on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Smithfield 22nd Ward chapel, 640 North 200 East, with Bishop Darrell Spendlove officiating. Viewings will be held from 6:00-8:00p.m. Sunday, February 24th at Nelson Funeral Home 85 S. Main, Smithfield and 10-11 a.m. Monday, February 25th at the chapel. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the "FROST SCHOLARSHIP" at Utah State University.
