Rita Joy Braegger Mason, 71, passed away at her home from a lingering illness on Thursday, September 4, 2003. She was born April 20, 1932 in Willard, Utah to David and Grace Reid Braegger. Rita attended Willard Elementary and graduated from Box Elder High School. She worked at Hill Air Force Base and Clearfield Naval Supply Depot. She married her sweetheart, Lloyd Mason on December 1, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. They became the proud parents of three children: LaDawn, David and Layne. She was a resident of Willard for 54 years before moving to Logan in 1985. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fulfilled various church callings throughout the years. The greatest joys in Rita?s life were home, family, cousins and friends. Rita is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her children: LaDawn Gerald Lizer, Wasilla, Alaska; David Debbie Mason, Island Park, Idaho; Layne B. Marsha Mason, Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One of her grandchildren is currently serving in the East Lansing, Michigan mission. She is also survived by two sisters: Joan Carl Mack and Jane Ralph Binns. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorthy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2003 at the Lundstrom Park First Ward Chapel, 1260 North 1600 East. Friends and family may call on Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
