DEWEYVILLE, UT?Richard Gibbs Dick Wheatley, 64, passed away peacefully at his Deweyville home on Friday, May 23, 2003, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He was born October 15, 1938, in Brigham City, UT a son of Richard Clark and Leah Rositta Christiansen Wheatley. He married the love of his life, Jeanne Ann Mulso, on December 1, 1968 in Des Plaines, IL. Richard was raised in Mayfield, Utah and graduated from Manti High School. He later attended Snow College, Utah State University, and Weber State College. He was a member of the Utah National Guard, and a long-time member of the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association and PRCA. He loved his years as a member of the Box Elder County Sheriff?s Posse. His loves were his family, horses, cattle, ranching, and many summers of going to the Rafter S Ranch. He retired in 1999 from Thiokol Corporation after 34 years of service. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of Deweyville, and three daughters whom he adored, Vicki Jack Simper, of Heber City, Jennifer Troy Arbon, of Deweyville, and Joey Ryan Hardy, of Boise, ID; grandchildren Ciara, Taylor, Lexi, Hunter, McCrae, and Weston. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Edward and Kent. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the Deweyville Ward Chapel, 10750 North Highway 38, with Bishop Leslie Wheatley conducting. Friends and family may call Tuesday, May 27th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church on Wednesday prior to services.
