Trenton: Richard West Smith, died on July 14, 2014 in Miles City, Montana. He was born August 21, 1998 in Arlington, Washington to H. Reid Smith and Kristyn Anne Van Dyke.
He was entering Sky View High in the fall as Junior. He was on track for obtaining his Eagle Scout Award. He had a desire to enter the military after his church missionary service.
He was serving as the secretary in the Teacher's Quorum.
He is survived by his father, H. Reid Smith Naomi, Newton, Utah; mother, Kristyn Anne Ben Van Dyke, Trenton, Utah; sister, Amira Smith, Trenton, and Kimberly Smith, Newton. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Bill Van Dyke and sister, Angelica Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m at the Newton LDS Ward Chapel, 76 South 100 West, Newton. A viewing will be on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and at the Church in Newton on Monday from 9:30-10 a.m. prior to services with Bishop Andrew of the Trenton Ward conducting. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery.
