Richard Pearl Jenkins

April 11, 1940 — January 10, 2024

Richard Pearl Jenkins
Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away suddenly on January 10, 2024, at his home in Newton, Utah. Born to Burton and Iona Jenkins on April 11, 1940. He was the fourth child in a family of 5 children.
He lived in Newton all his 83 years, where he was involved with family farming – growing hay, oats, milking cows for a few years but became interested in sheep in his teens. He became a full-time sheep rancher/farm worker in his adult life. He adored his border collie sheep dogs and trained them to herd the sheep.
He enjoyed fishing and camping out when time allowed. He enjoyed hunting with his dad, brothers, and sons.
He was a confirmed bachelor until he married in 1975 to Kathleen Tucker. He was blessed with the birth of his two sons: Richard Shane & Shaun Parley. Kathleen & Richard later divorced in 1993. Richard married Gwen Foley in 1999.
He is survived by his sons: Richard Shane Jenkins and Shaun Parley Jenkins, his brother: Don Jenkins, Barbara (Darrel) Green, Marge Erickson, granddaughter: Brook Jenkins, and many nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his brother: Ralph, and many aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 15th at 1:00 pm at the Newton Cemetery.
