Deweyville - Richard B ?Dick? Davis, 67, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006. He was born in Tremonton, Utah on April 20, 1939 to Richard Blount and Lois Stokes Davis. He grew up in the Bear River Valley and graduated from Bear River High. He completed an honorable mission to England and attended Utah State University where he obtained a B.S. degree in Production Management. At college he met and married his sweetheart, Gayla Howell. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on November 18, 1965. They chose to begin their family in Tremonton where Dick took over the family business with his brothers. Later they settled in Deweyville where they raised their six children. Richard owned and operated Davis Glass and Radiator from 1965-2001 and served as the President of the local Chamber of Commerce. His hobbies and talents centered around his family and the Church. He loved people and was a friend to many. He loved to work in his garden, hunt, camp, fish, ski and tell stories. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in many positions including High Councilor, Bishop of the Riverview Ward and Branch President of the Bear River Care Center. He especially loved scouting and working with the youth.
Surviving are his wife, Gayla; children: Jay Richard Kim Davis, Jennifer Martin Lewis, Bonnie Jean Jim Christiansen, Mark Russell Christianne Davis, Mary Ellen Kory Haws and Carol Ann Andrew Christensen; 17 grandchildren; two brothers: Hugh S Claudia Davis and Joseph M Barbara Davis; three sisters: Darlene LaMont Lamb, Roxey Paul Haynie and Bette Davis; an ?adopted? sister: Marilyn Richards and a sister in law: Cathy Roger Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert H. Cathy Davis.
Services will be held Monday, October 23, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Riverview Ward chapel, 10750 North Hwy. 38, Deweyville. Friends and family may gather from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday from 10:15-11:40 a.m. at the church. Interment at Deweyville Cemetery.
