Rex Valgene Gleason

Tremonton, UT ? Rex Valgene Gleason, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 7, 2006. He was born October 10, 1918 to Edward Carter and Mildred Armelia Grover Gleason in Garland, UT. He married Cloteel Goodey, they later divorced but remained good friends. Rex was also known as ?Poppie? and was honored when family and most everyone who knew him called him that.
Rex enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, riding horses, growing tomatoes, road trips to west Utah and spending time with his friends and his family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During WWII he was stationed in the South Pacific with the Army.
He is survived by his three children: Jack Lee Kathy Gleason, Clarkston, UT, Rex Valgene Kristine Gleason, Smithfield, UT and Debra Sue Gary Udy, Riverside, UT; one sister, Bernice Sessions; ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The sky was a little bluer and the sun a little brighter with the birth of each new grandbaby and great grandbaby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson, Courtney James Gleason.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT. Family and friends may call Monday, September 11, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00-11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Clarkston Cemetery.
