Reta Jane Oyler Holdaway Reta Jane Oyler Holdaway, our loving mother, grandmother and sister, 84, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2002, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, from complications following a stroke. She was born on April 17, 1918, in East Garland, Utah, the daughter of Leo and Lodema Isaacson Oyler. She attended Bear River High School. She retired from the Box Elder District School Lunch program. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her greatest joys were her family and friends. She served in various church callings and volunteered services for the activities at the Bear River Valley Care Center. On April 17, 1935, she married David B. Holdaway in Brigham City, Utah. He died on November 4, 1987. She spent her married life in Deweyville where she enjoyed helping with the farm and took great pride in her rose garden. She is survived by her seven children; Dennis L., Ridgecrest, CA; LaMar O. Lynda, West Valley City; Darlene Paul Christensen, Kennewick, WA; Boyd J. Scheryl, Kennesaw, GA; Justin Glen Carreen, Salt Lake City; Keith Rachel, Garland; Carolyn Wade Pierce, Logan; 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Gwen Mariner Ballard, Leone Hatch, R. Thayne Arlene Oyler. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Reid L. and Vern J.; a sister, Eva Oyler; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Deweyville LDS Ward Chapel, 10750 North Highway 38. Family and friends may call Friday, July 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Saturday, July 6th from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
