Richmond, Utah: Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Reed Randall Ripplinger, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on January 20, 2015. Reed was born on August 13, 1936 to Lawrence and Lorraine Ripplinger of Logan, Utah. Reed grew up in North Logan. In his youth, he delivered Newspapers and was an avid baseball player. It was in North Logan that he met his high school sweetheart, Sarah Ann. He served a mission to the Eastern States Mission for the LDS church. Upon returning from his mission he married Sarah Ann in the Logan Temple. He graduated from Utah State University and spent many years teaching school. He loved teaching and was beloved by many. He also loved farming and worked very late into the night after teaching school all day. He was a man who quietly served others. He spent many years serving in scouting, the Lions club and various church positions. He loved being a dad and a grandpa and enjoyed being with his family. In his senior years he enjoyed serving as a temple officiator and serving an LDS mission with his wife in Cambodia. He is the father of seven children, Cary (Diana), Diane (Alan), Karen (Monte), Michelle, Anita (John), David (Katie), Kevin (Jennifer). He had 29 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Lorraine, siblings Conrad, Paul, Luana, Rex and Juanita. He is survived by his brother Hollis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Richmond Stake Center, 135 West Main Street. There will be a viewing on Friday, January 23, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday January 24 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. (all viewings will be at the church). Interment will follow at Richmond City Cemetery.
