ELWOOD - Reed Frank Miller, 72, passed away peacefully following a cardiac arrest on Monday, August 7, 2006 in the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by his family he loved so much. Reed, son of Ole Marion and Erma Frank Miller, was born September 11, 1933 in the family home in Elwood, Utah. He was raised on the family farm where he has lived his whole life. He was the third of five children. He has two older sisters, Colleen Mack Hansen of Elwood, Utah and Marilyn Holbrook of Salt Lake City, Utah, younger brother Richard Marion Miller of Elwood, Utah and a younger sister, Barbara Miller deceased. Reed graduated from Bear River High School in 1951. Reed married GaeLene Harris on March 4, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with three children, Barbie Gae Brett Massengale of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Todd Marion Kathleen Miller of Mapleton, Utah, and Justin Reed Kathleen Miller of Parker, Colorado. They have been blessed with 11
grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with little Cameron Reed on the way. Reed had two great loves besides his family. He was a cowboy at heart and loved caring for his cattle and working on his farm. His other love was flying. He was a spray pilot and loved flying in the west desert with his friends. Reed loved all sports, especially softball and baseball. He also loved spending time fishing with his family in Montana. Reed was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many callings, including bishopric, Priesthood Quorum Presidents, and many others. He served one term as Mayor of Elwood, and held many other positions in the community He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 am in the new Elwood 1st/2nd Ward chapel, 4865 West 9600 North in Elwood, Utah conducted by Bishop Kevin Hall. Friends and family may call at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home in Tremonton, Utah on Friday, August 11, 2006 from 6:30-8:30 pm and 9:15-10:45 am Saturday at the Church. Interment will be in the Elwood Cemetery.
