Ray Wheeler

Ray ?H? Wheeler was born October 6, 1926 in Lewiston, Utah, the fifth child to Lester George Wheeler and Ruby May Hodges Wheeler. He passed away June 26, 2003 in Logan, Utah. Ray grew up on the family farm in Lewiston and always had a great love for the farm and the animals. He truly loved growing up on the farm with his parents and brothers and sisters. Ray attended schools in Lewiston and graduated from North Cache High School in 1944. He married Florence Hansen on March 5, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple, and was a member of the Lewiston LDS 2nd Ward. He joined the Merchant Marines after high school graduation in 1944 and was honorably discharged in December of 1946. After Ray returned from his military service, he and Florence purchased a home and farm in Lewiston, where they continued to live until he passed away. Ray enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle, and working on his tractors and his Chevy pick-ups. Ray is survived by his wife, Florence Hansen Wheeler, daughters: Marsha Ron Hymas, Hyde Park, Utah and Cindy Rick Anderson, Queen Creek, Arizona, and son, Regan Jonette Wheeler, Lewiston, Utah. Grandchildren: Travis Hymas, Michelle Hymas Brett Hansen, Colby Mindi Wheeler, Nick Janell Wheeler, Curt Wheeler, Brady Wheeler, Mysti Anderson and Kasei Anderson and one great grandson, Carter Brett Hansen. Also surviving are his brother, James Herbert Venus Wheeler and sister, Carma Warren Hamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lester Howard Wheeler and Glen West Wheeler and sister, Thelma Wood Carter. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2003 at 12:00 noon in the Lewiston 2nd Ward Chapel, located at 10 South 1600 West in Lewiston. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewiston 2nd Ward Church and on Monday, June 30th from 10:30 a.m.to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery with military honors. Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
