Ray Oliver Olsen, 94, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at home on April 15, in the same house in which he was born and lived his entire life. He was born on February 23, 1913 to Alma L. and Mary Louise Olsen in Young Ward, Utah. He was the eighth of thirteen children. He married Beth Wyatt on March 5, 1947 and their marriage was later solemnized on August 9, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple. They had three children, Noland Janet Olsen of Young Ward, Lyle Peggy Olsen of West Valley City, Mary Bruce Muir of Maceio, Brazil. He had 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 10 brothers and sisters, and 1 great grandchild. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two sisters; Vera Stratford and Lorna Jones. Ray loved his land and being a farmer. He milked his cows every day until he was 82, approximately 55, 000 milkings. He was a friend to all and never spoke poorly of anyone. All who knew him were blessed by his sweet and loving spirit. He enjoyed life and shared that with others by whistling wherever he went. His family delighted in the stories he liked to tell of his childhood and life. Ray was a man of great faith and served in all of his callings valiantly. Some of which include: Elder?s Quorum President, Sunday School President, Ward Clerk, Webelo?s leader, and a faithful home teacher until he was 93 years old. He was also very dedicated in his temple attendance. His was a life well lived. It can truly be said of Ray that he endured nobly until the end of his life. We acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude his faithful home teachers, John Ribera and Russell Williams, Dodie, his hospice nurse, and his many friends and family from Young Ward who visited with him regularly. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19 at the Young Ward Chapel, 2394 West 2200 South, Logan.
