Garland, UT –With tender sadness, we bid farewell to our loving Raquel Greenwood Thomas. She passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 after enduring a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She had a tremendous "never-give-up attitude." Born November 13, 1952 in American Fork, Utah to Robert D. and LaRae Tidwell Greenwood.
She attended school in American Fork, Utah. She married Gerry Riggs and had one son, Bobby. They later divorced and she met the love of her life, Bruce Thomas. They married November 15, 1975. They had three boys: Joshua, Jordan and Logan Thomas. They made Garland their home. They enjoyed their farm. Raquel delighted in the creatures, all of whom had names. After caring for the pets and family, she turned to flowers and made numerous quilt tops and crafts, all with much care. She was at her best when shopping with her best friend. Raquel had a real talent for adding items to her cart then changing her mind and replacing somewhat empty shelves.
Truly those who loved her best will miss her most, her husband, Bruce; children: Bobby Riggs, Jordan, Joshua and Logan; daughters-in-law: Lisa Riggs and Serena Thomas; one granddaughter, Mykara Riggs and another expected this summer Raquel Jordyn Thomas; her siblings: Mike Greenwood, Tom Susan Greenwood and Jill Clint Devitt; parents: Bob and Larae Greenwood; mother-in-law, Anna May Steele; best friend, Becky; and Taylor, her canine companion.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Garland 3rd/4th/5th Ward Chapel, 175 South Main, Garland, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday, April 22, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the American Fork Cemetery.
