Ralph Germer Deweyville: Ralph Germer, 88, passed away October 17, 2002, in Deweyville, Utah. He was born September 24, 1914, in Deweyville, the son of Henry and Minnie Poulsen Germer. He married Frances Karnely on August 28, 1966, in Elko, NV. Ralph worked on, and operated the family farm located in Deweyville most of his life. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1935 and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Ralph was one of the first men from Box Elder County to enlist when the United States entered World War II. He joined the US Army on January 20, 1941, and was released from service as a Corporal on September 29, 1945. He was a member of a field artillery unit and served in Alaska and Southern Italy. He earned many ribbons during his service including the sharp shooter medal and Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife Frances Karnely Germer, Deweyville; a brother, Fred M. Germer, Clearfield, UT, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Irvin ?Shorty? Germer. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 21, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at the Deweyville Cemetery.
